Our First UK Challenge!!
Hard to believe we are back nearly a week – and weren’t we lucky! Well done to you all – who knew there was such a range of climbs and descents in this Country?
The 3 days could not have been better – with just right temperatures, a slight breeze and excellent cycling terrain. And the gala dinner food and hotel throughout were spot on – really good base to explore the Severn Valley.
Thanks as always to the Marshal Team – route signing and overseeing was, as usual, exemplary.
Huge thanks also to our organisers and commercial supporters – the Rotary Clubs of Milton Keynes Grand Union and Bedford Park, Axis Electronics, The Clydesdale Group, Stellar Building Consultancy and Delomac Roofing – and the Organising Committee of Preston Ayres, Robert Oakley, Martin Banham-Hall, Andrew Morris, Mike Rhodes, Alan Bretherton, Steve Bradley and myself.
This was our 19th Challenge – and we are already planning for 2022, and our 20th and best ever Challenge – you would expect no less, and we hope to return to Europe.
But the final action you all need to do now is to chase sponsor monies and fundraising – the easiest way is through Virgin Money – and remember to raise for Extramile Challenges – we will distribute to your own nominated Charities once all funds are collected. The Virgin site will remain open and we will get all monies and Gift Aid – they are then closing the site as they have stopped sponsoring the London Marathon. So don’t delay – get the money in as soon as you can.
